On the L train platform at Grand Street
10:07 a.m. on June 26, 2015
No one else knowing for lack of cell reception
that SCOTUS upheld marriage equality seven minutes ago
How for them the world stayed the same
But for others it would always be freer, brighter, alive
Today will belong to everyone
It is ours
Smiling tears to myself
As no eyes meet mine
A train rushes by
We embark together
In silence
