Poem

I came here to mourn-
So many spirits haunt this hall of mirrors.
And from within, the distortions are clearer than daylight.
This windowless wonder of a world that was never meant to exist,
Is big enough to hold my tears, which have grown to wading depth.

Today, I mean to drain off the pain.
The liquid gathered under my skin from the violent blow
Of misjudging a corner and hitting- a wall.
I saw the impact coming, yet I stood-
Frozen. Still. Allowed connection.

So the bruise formed,
And the trauma reverberated, each tremor causing
Another tiny death.
I look down; my ankles are covered.
Spirits haunt this hall of mirrors.

Today, I dared to cross the threshold,
To see what life still might exist. But all is shattered around me.
I gather fragments- alone.
And I mourn.
Then to let it rest- yet know no peace.

Great photo with this! I suggest to cry with smiles, it is the only solution.
