The Andaman Sea
Poem
My azure lover
Languid and sanguine
I gave myself to you
I was a temple and a shrine
but there was no need to pray
The heavens opened up before me,
and I became the heavens
floating
as a star that twinkles and does not know it’s light
you gave me sanctuary
I did not meditate
I was given meditation
Rain began to fall
and you took me into your arms
I was the rain,
falling from heaven
and how I fell,
for there was no falling
only you
and your depths
I was all. I was everything.
Everything was me.
I wept, frightened
My tears
fell as kisses
And you caught every one
Cherished
Beloved
I let go
and found myself floating
upon the Andaman Sea
