Birthday
Birthday Poem
Oh to be 30 again
A life lost for one day added
Each second older and wiser than my last
The drip drip drip of wax upon sugar
Constructs of egg, water, flour
Another of life’s moments
Where one exhale changes everything
So oft I considered the monotony
That the day to day never changes
And suddenly
Looking back
Everything is different
