Dragging Pride

Poem
Stepping off my vessel
as one Navy Valor
holding onto my pride
draped is my honor.
I struggle to step in your universe
the waters took stock in my life
it isn’t as easy as a cannons burst
there are few that can play the fife.
I gave to you my courage
which many sort not give
I gave my life without rage
yet, toward me, you’re vindictive.
I walk proud in your shadow
I carry all this for freedom
in my struggle I stand like an arrow
today I will be honored in the Colosseum.

The words that flow by ink are the defeats and enjoyments of the life lived in the years that accompanied the mind of a writer that measured his time recognizing the passions of surrounding people.
