Encaged
Captive bird
Imagines;
Spreading his wings
Wide spanned feathers, to the wind he sings
Rest is nonstop for this kind of bird
Bars separate him
From the world he chose.
Solitude of a life imprisoned unfair
Wanting to escape, but affliction creates fear
He’ll show gratitude, if handled with care.
Poor lonely bird encaged, I seen
Singing a song, distressful melody
Captured wings deserving to fly
Soothing is the song of a desperate birds cry
Dimming are eyes yearning to soar through the air
Captivating the sky with beauty, with flair
Longing freedom before it dies
Anxious is the song of a desperate birds cry
En-caged is a creature
Whose purpose is to fly…
