Jumping Ship
Hesitating the moon shivers and shakes
As I watch it changing shape
Undertaking a crooked path
Somewhere there’s a road to take
The signs point straight, behind I see years of my life
A life defined but something feels not right
Time to make a discovery
A lunar eclipse of my old story
I don’t need this rigidity
It’s up to me
Never more will I try
To battle the truth inside
Never more will I hide
My scribbles outside these lines
I can’t breathe
So give me mystery
I’m blown with the sand
I’ll breathe the blue sea that’s a part of me
Don’t give up, be smart and strong
But who am I kidding
Learning to fly while scared of heights
When I should be swimming
Expectation left on the shore
Life again is an open door
Jumping ship, lose my grip, feel my heart skip
Never more will I try
To hold on to my tattered pride
Never more will I hide
This unexpected ride
I am free
Free to explore
I’m blown with the sand
Instead of flying I dive deep into the sea
Here I know my element, not fighting what I can’t be
It’s a world of glowing monsters and haunted boats
But I’m not scared of those
This is where my blood flows
Never more will I try
To hope for something I can’t change
Never more will I hide
Letting go of the reins
I am free
In the deep I’ll be
I’m blown with the sand
I’ll breathe the blue sea that’s a part of me
