Of An Autumn Winter
Love Poem
You starved the emotions out of me as a winter’s frost
Bringing forth the sugars from the leaves
Turning them to the rusts and yellows that bleed out through these pores
Staining our shirts and sharing their evidence upon our breasts
Where they once lay dormant, waiting, and I unawares
’til you provoked them from their slumber
