Morningside
Poem
She woke to dreams of kingdoms past
That ruled her mind
Guided fortune
Arising she saw the sun peek through linen clouds
Trapped between her and nature
A cocoon between the real and imagined
As the wind swirled in and swept up her hopes
Carried them away
Amongst the birds which sang that they had
Better things to do
Than carry the weight of desire
Upon their wings
