Short Poem about Nature
The ocean, in the distance
the sands so white
the cerulean water so clear
then closer
the garbage pieces
on the grey, rocky banks
washed away dunes and
trampled seagrass
the kelp littered upon the shore
as though a Normandy attempt to seize it back
for the sea
wishing our departure
as much as we anticipate
our arrival
