Spoken Word

Hanging up the motive is harder
Than breaking habits
Braking at a stop sign
From 50 to six miles
At the drop of a dime
Sets the teeth on edge
Be grateful
Pedestrian had
The sense to wait ’til I crashed
Before the stroll
Dashboard hit the worst
Possible way I think
Perhaps neither
Left nor right
Remained
All I remember was out of my element
Stayed that way
Ever after
Perfect excuse for the love
Argued away
Turning ignition
Adjusting seats
Before that endless pull
Off from that driveway

Jazz-soaked spirit running circles around despair...or something like that. Really. Lover of words, lover of being in worlds free...just...free. New Yorker, artist, Virgo besieged by airhead tendencies akin to Libra moves. Bronx is home base. Began an obsession with writing at seven and twenty-odd years hence, still at it. Enjoy/love/hate/be bored/appreciate to your heart's content. Or something like that. http://www.lbisonartist.com
