Pink Kisses

poems about bittersweet love

Poem

The sun explodes
into a million pink kisses
only to be buried beneath the greys
of dusk. I catch one, pretending it is
from you. Bittersweet.

your tears still enchant
the day we bid farewell to move on,
it was for good but a piece of my
heart is stolen, never to be returned. I
wonder if you can even remember
my name. Would it even matter?

The sun appears again in
tiny clusters, around the moon. I dare
not keep its kiss any longer. I release
it back to the starry sky, along with
a zillion red kisses that we
have shared, along with
every memory of you.

Goodbye
