Putting on the gown
The pride
The courage
The determination
The dedication
The camaraderie
The friendship
The going through and growing through things together
The promise
The hope
The grand adventure behind you
And before you

Putting on the hat
The unknown presented to you
Anticipation
Possibility
Excitement
Anxiety
The joy
The sadness
The relief
The glory
The overcoming of so much

Placing the tassel
The memories
The hardship
The times of need
The nostalgia
The celebration
The tears and confetti
Falling down
Stepping into a new era
Embarking untouched grown
And a black cocoon revealing
Someone ready to fly out
