The Move
Poem
The cardboard flats bend outward, angling
Stacked toward ceiling, one upon another
Past lives suddenly sorted into kitchen, bathroom, bedroom
Like a personality test gone awry, traits of myself
Boiled down to 14 boxes perfectly packed with bubble wrap
The most organized I might ever be from Point A to Point B
Having actually boxed myself in
Kinesis made static
Compartmentalized into the ideas that others have for my life
Until I make it to the safe space
To unpack
To expand
To breathe
