Time Capsule
Poem
Sandalwood coaxing your velvet dreams
Melting them like butter and cream
A moment shimmering like honey
Each ring a thousand years
Each step swirls and disappears
A delicate time capsule
Ghosts, lifetimes, oceans echo
A choir of ancient voices
Fading intelligible faraway
A muffled static
Washed out and weather worn
A youthful softness glows warm
Reborn again and again
Into the kind curiosity
Of someone’s hand
They pause their walk
Along the shoreline sand
And listen as hard as they can
